About Us
Rescue the mistreated. Save the injured. Love the abandoned.
Tails Of Freedom Rescue Inc. is a non profit, primarily foster based organization located in Winnipeg, MB.
Founded in 2019, Tails of Freedom Rescue Inc. saw an immediate need to save three cats from being euthanized. After rescuing Prince, Cornell, and Elvis, we provided the necessary veterinary care with the help of dedicated volunteers and the donations of many caring people. Since then, we have grown into the organization we are today that has rescued over 3200 animals and counting.
In the summer of 2025, Tails of Freedom Rescue moved into their first official physical location, operating as a small adoptions centre and intake facility.

INTAKE FREEZE
We officially have to call an intake freeze until minimum June 1st..
The 43 kitties took up most of our fosters, so we are at a bit of a standstill until we have more open.
In the next few weeks we still have 44-48 to help..
🐾 20 to come in from the same place we got 43.
🐾 8 more from another home that had over 20 kitties.
🐾 5 semi feral kittens that need a socializing foster asap.
🐾 A mom and babies.
🐾 The rest of the HOPE colony that was originally thought to be committing to 10. We have now helped 19 and still about 6-10 remain.
Until we are caught up with these commitments, we are unable to take on more.
On top of that - we have a few kitties in care that have big upcoming appointments and possible major surgeries.. Cardiac ultrasound, posterior dislocation in both knee caps, possible eye removal… none are cheap…
In the meantime - if you are looking for help with a fur baby, or babies.. you can submit a surrender form on our website. Unfortunately we have no timeline as to if/when we can get to you - but will not be looking into any until minimum June 1st.
We are very sorry - we hate doing this. But we are already at 230 cats in care. Our stressed number is 250 and this will bring us well over to 275…. Our team is already exhausted..

Good news! We are now collecting aluminum cat food cans & pop cans to raise funds for the fur babies in our care! ❤️
RULES:
🐾 Labels MUST be removed, cans MUST be washed with no food resudue & completely dry before bagged.
🐾 Pop cans must be seperate from cat food cans.
DROP OFF:

🐾 You can bring them directly to the recycler *Rakowski on Archibald* Just let them know it’s going on the Tails of Freedom Rescue account.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER
There are many things that you can do as a volunteer for Tails of freedom Rescue. Listed are a few of the small tasks required regularly. You can help out whenever you are available. As a volunteer you will be added to our volunteer facebook group and when something is need to be done we will post on that group and if any volunteers are available they can let us know.
- Pick up an animal to take to the vet for a scheduled appointment
- Pick up medication, food, or animal supplies from a destination to drop off at a foster's home
- Become a volunteer home check person to inspect homes for possible fosterers or adopters
