About Us
Rescue the mistreated. Save the injured. Love the abandoned.
Tails Of Freedom Rescue Inc. is a non profit, primarily foster based organization located in Winnipeg, MB.
Founded in 2019, Tails of Freedom Rescue Inc. saw an immediate need to save three cats from being euthanized. After rescuing Prince, Cornell, and Elvis, we provided the necessary veterinary care with the help of dedicated volunteers and the donations of many caring people. Since then, we have grown into the organization we are today that has rescued over 3200 animals and counting.
In the summer of 2025, Tails of Freedom Rescue moved into their first official physical location, operating as a small adoptions centre and intake facility.

You open your home to a kitty. We handle supplies and vetting. We help match you. We check in with you.
If it’s love, you adopt. If it’s not the right fit, we help find their person - no guilt.

Good news! We are now collecting aluminum cat food cans & pop cans to raise funds for the fur babies in our care! ❤️
RULES:
🐾 Labels MUST be removed, cans MUST be washed with no food resudue & completely dry before bagged.
🐾 Pop cans must be seperate from cat food cans.
DROP OFF:
🐾 Unit 16-1421 St. James Street during open hours
Thurs 12-6pm, Fri 1-7pm, Sat 1-6pm
🐾 You can bring them directly to the recycler *Rakowski on Archibald* Just let them know it’s going on the Tails of Freedom Rescue account.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER
There are many things that you can do as a volunteer for Tails of freedom Rescue. Listed are a few of the small tasks required regularly. You can help out whenever you are available. As a volunteer you will be added to our volunteer facebook group and when something is need to be done we will post on that group and if any volunteers are available they can let us know.
- Pick up an animal to take to the vet for a scheduled appointment
- Pick up medication, food, or animal supplies from a destination to drop off at a foster's home
- Become a volunteer home check person to inspect homes for possible fosterers or adopters
