She does have stage 1 chronic kidney disease, which means she’ll need a kidney-friendly diet and a high-walled litter box with a step for her comfort but she’s managing well and still living large.

Angel doesn’t do high-energy anything. She’s fine with older, respectful kids who know how to let her make the rules, and might tolerate one or two calm animals who understand they are not the main character (she is).

Our sweet Mr. Limpy is looking for a very special family. Could it be you?

Approximately a year ago, Limpy was seen on his fosters porch camera eating with the other neighborhood strays.
After being watched for a while it was noticed he had some sort of injury to his front paw and was limping.
After trying for quite some time, Mr. Limpy was trapped! This is how he got his name.

He was taken to the vet to get treatment for his sore paw as well as Neutered, vaccinated and dewormed.
To heal he stayed in a 2 story cage, he was not doing well, he wouldn't eat and seemed extremely unhappy and depressed and angry, no one could touch him.
So once he was healed he was released back to the porch.

Fast forward to winter, it was so cold so the foster decided to trap and keep all the strays indoor for the winter. Mr. LIMPY was 1st to be trapped and released into the fosters basement.

Limpy appeared to be a semi feral cat, he would growl and hiss if you got close to him. Eventually, after a few weeks he started rubbing up on their legs when it was food time, but couldn't pet him as he'd attack your hand, you also couldn’t walk away from him cause he'd attack your legs and feet...as time went on and he kept attacking legs and feet he was put into a very large cage where his foster would go in with him and spend time with him.

He decided he loved getting pets from her and would purr and cuddle up. He does still get over stimulated and bite(not hard) and grab (without claws) your hands. He is extremely loving and a wonderful cat, but only to one person. He will hiss growl and attack the legs of any other person.

Limpy needs a special home with one human or a couple willing to put in the work to earn Mr.Limpys love. He does well with other cats but can play rough. He is fine with little dogs if they leave him alone.
He plays with toys when he is alone, he hasn't yet played toys with his foster.

He is a big loveable Bear when he finds his person.
Someone out there must want to give this big loveable lug the chance he deserves!

Polly’s foster mama has been working on her socialization for a few months now and while she has made huge progress, she still doesn’t like to be touched.

Polly has taken an interest in the adult male cats in her foster home (dont worry - her uterus got the booterus) so perhaps a home with a male cat that she can snuggle up to would make her happy. 

Now she may not be the cuddley lap cat that everyone wants, but she has come a long way and it has been very rewarding watching her go from scared and hiding, to playing with toys and chasing her housemates. I LOVE other cats, like adore them to no end. They make me feel safe and secure, other cats were all I knew in the first part of my life. I would be called a cat’s cat because of this. I also LOVE to play. Foster mom calls me a tomboy because I’m a rough and tumble kinda girl. I love to wrestle with the other cats!

I also LOVE to eat and I’m always meowing at foster mom to hurry up! When it’s dinner time. I have a very soft voice but boy do I use it when mom is too slow. I’m also first in line when it’s “snack time”, I love my temptation treats! Mom says I would make a good hockey goalie because I love to slap the treats down when mom throws them. I get them every time too!

I’m a clean cat that always uses the litter box and I love to relax and sleep on the couch, the cat beds, the cat tree and best of all, mom’s bed.

Here’s the one thing about me though. I’m still not accepting of pets. It still scares me. I’m always around and I will be the first one up on the bed when mom has a nap or is reading her book. I know people won’t hurt me but I still need time. I would be the perfect cat for someone looking to add to their family and wanting a friend for their existing cat(s). Hello everyone my name is Paloma. If you are looking for a furever friend, I’m your girl. I’ve been in care for 368 days and am now ready to move on to work for another family.

I had a pretty rough beginning, but thanks to TFR not giving up on me, I’ve found food and medicine that work for me. I must admit I still crave other taboo foods and dine in lonely splendour apart from my housemates because I try to steal from them.

I am the tiniest girl with the silkiest fur and a tail that was broken and now has a cute floop at the end to add to my charm. I enjoy being petted or brushed, but dislike pawdicures. I love to cuddle with my cat friends and would do well with other cat company.

I do love to talk now that I have learned to meow but mostly I chirp and chortle. My favourite toys are cat wands and that elusive red dot that I’m going to catch someday. I love chasing mice on my iPad and watching my foolish brothers chase bubbles.

I am a very hardworking girl. I like to be involved in anything household related: from folding laundry, stacking the dishwasher, making beds and most definitely preparing meals. I have taken on many duties. I do security monitoring from my window perch. I greet all guests. I inspect every bag and box entering the home. I help with putting away groceries as well as ensuring all cupboards and the refrigerator are kept neat and tidy. I also provide tuck in and wake up services. 

My most important task is taking care of the humans. I’m afraid they’re not very intelligent and I have to constantly act as an escort so they don’t get lost. Alarmingly, they keep trying to drown themselves in that bathtub thing and I have to be their lifeguard.

I have met dogs and am curious about them but as yet have not gone out of my way to make friends. Little people alarm me so I would probably do better with older children. I drink from a bowl or fountain and my litter box manners are meticulous.

Oh and I get along great with the other cats and dog in the household (but I was very timid at first but now it’s great because I have a friend to play chase with). I love to climb…my foster brother taught me how to get on top of the fridge, lol. I always come and say goodnight to my human mom when she goes to bed-and sometimes I’ll lay down with her…but sometimes I just like to sleep in my favorite spot on the back of the recliner with the fuzzy blanket. I’m really everything you could want in a cat-if you meet me give me a few seconds to warm up to you and you will see how perfect I can be!

It was found out recently that I have a stage 3 (mild/moderate) heart murmur. To be safe we went to get an echo-cardiogram (which is why my fur is shaved in a few spots). The results came back indicating that my heart is currently healthy and I don’t need any medication or treatment right now! I will need my new family to maintain regular vet care and to keep an eye on my heart going forward in case it ever does get worse.

It has been just over 2 months since I learned that inside is okay! I am still warming up to the idea of humans. I looooooove attention, but I love it on my terms. I cannot be pet while I am free roaming the house but once I'm in my safe spot, or once I'm laying on your bed I demand all the pets! I'll roll and roll around and if you dare stop petting me I'll pull your hand in with mine for more. Sometimes I use my claws to grab your hand but I don't scratch and quickly realize I shouldn't do that! I am not good yet with anyone else other than my foster parents and I hide when guests come over. I'm looking for a home with low energy, and preferably no young children. I love other cats and really love big dogs so I'd be good in a multi pet family as long as the animals are "chill"

Array loves being near his brother and the resident cats and carefully watches their interactions with their family. He's very respectful to his older foster sibling, as well as the 3 special needs cats. He loves to play with our blind cat and is so careful with him. He loves wrestling, spring toys, interactive toys....well, he's a cat he will play with anything!

He used to hiss a bit at being picked up but never fought it. Now he loves getting belly rubs, smooches and really, really likes to have his paw held while he naps. He's become a proficient kneader - any sleeping cat will be treated to a relaxing massage. He enjoys a good chat, loves to sit on window sills and will sleep right beside you - after he enthusiastically chews on your foot. You've been warned.

Summit is a mischievous, fluffy little man. He loves the company of other cats and knows how to adapt to their individual characters. He's so respectful to our 11 yr old ruler of the realm! He has appointed himself as the official guide cat to our blind boy. The 2 middle cats are for snuggling into and napping with. He's come a long way since he and his family were taken into rescue when he was 4 months old. He now enjoys belly rubs, head and cheek smooches and sleeping with his family. He's very food motivated and not a fussy eater. He uses both covered and open litter boxes with no accidents outside of the box. He likes to spend his mornings bird watching and wrestling. He will play with anything and will beat any throw rug into submission. He loves to have conversations and they're usually about food.
Summit needs a family that has the patience and tolerance to give him the space he will need to adjust to a new home. He may hiss if you pick him up but that's it. He is a sweet tempered little man and will not swat or use his claws. But he will let you know he's scared and uncertain. And that's okay. Eventually (sooner than you think) he will be accepting of affection and stretching out his fluffiness to encourage a belly rub. He needs to be encouraged not forced. While he loves pets and smooches he doesn't actively seek them. But he is so ready to take that next step and we really don't want it to be with us. We want his own family to be given the gift of total acceptance and love.

Salsa seems to be a little more confident when she is around her brother or sister, and she loves a good cuddle by the kitchen heat vent with the resident foster cat.
Salsa is good with other cats. She doesn’t like kids that move too quickly and will run away when startled, but with time and patience, she should be ok with them.

Hi my name is Prongs. I’m a beautiful and gentle 24-week-old girl who is learning that people are nice, as I came into rescue quite scared. I have been with my foster family for 8 weeks and have decided that my foster mom is trust worthy but I’m still testing the rest of the family. I’m very curious, brave, and so smart. I like to watch what the people in my house are doing, and I will ask my foster mom to pick me up so I can get a better look. 

My foster family call me Prongsy and I’m so smart that I know my name already! I have a tiny little meow that is sometimes silent, but when I purr the whole room can hear me. I love other cats so much, and I would really like my forever home to have another cat to help me build my confidence, trust people and to snuggle and play with. I have won over the resident cats at my foster home and will snuggle up to them as close as I can get, which is often on top of them. 

My favourite toy is my wand toy, which I love to drag around the house. I’m very food motivated and will happily climb on anyone’s lap for Temptations or Churru tubes. I enjoyed Christmas at my foster home and was good with the Christmas tree however I did like to find and play with the ribbons on the gifts. I’m excellent at using the litter box and having my nails cut while I enjoy a Churru tube.

S-s-sorry.. Hi… My name is Sugarpie. You caught me being the sweet, happy little girl I’m capable of being if you give me the chance.

See, I came in as a semi-feral, petrified kitty. I would freeze, hiss and occasionally swat. After quite some time I learned that pets do feel good and stopped turning to stone when my foster family pet me. I slowly pressed into the pets and loved receiving tube treats.

My foster family and visiting furry pals have helped me bloom into a tolerant and loving sweetie but do keep in mind I am still very skittish and shy… fast movements, loud noises, and too humans will make me bolt and hide. I am still not ready to be picked up, I won’t bite but it will stress me out and I will push away possibly clawing you in the process. If you need to move me momentarily, you can very carefully and gently pick me up by the nape of my neck like a kitten and I will remain calm but let’s try to avoid that all together

I found my voice and will let out teeny, tiny squawks letting you know I miss you and want pets. When you are calm I will come to you for pets, rub against you, and roll on to my back to show you my belly. I do like feet and will lick your toes… but you know, to each their own. I am very lady-like and agreeable when it comes to my bathroom manners and eating habits though!

I love playing with wand toys and other kitty friends. I’m very submissive and sweet to other cats and respect other kitties boundaries as they get used to me, I have never hissed or swatted at another cat. I might do well with a smaller doggy friend with proper intro. As for kids- well let’s just say they have to be calm, cool and collected or I’m going back to my hiding spot.

I’m hoping I find a small family or a single life partner that will be patient with me, as it will take some time getting used to a new place and not take it personally if I hiss or get TOO scared on the first day. My squeaks, rubs, and slow blinks are very well worth the wait.

Sweetcheeks is a stunning long-haired black beauty with gorgeous golden eyes. She came into care scared and feral, but with some time and love she has transformed into a loving, floofy shadow who just wants to be wherever you are.

Sweetcheeks likes to be close to her people. You can usually find her following you around, letting out quiet gentle chirps, asking for love and attention. Too busy to pet her at the moment? No problem. She’ll just sit two inches away and stare at you until you give her pets.

Although she would do just fine as a solo kitty, Sweetcheeks absolutely adores male cats! I’d love to see her go to a home where she can have a playful male cat buddy that she can roughhouse with and then snuggle up to afterwards. Sweetcheeks does feel threatened by other females though, so she is looking for a home without any female cats.

Hi I'm Amaro, I'm only 8 months old but life has already been very scary for me. I lived on the streets of central Winnipeg with my brother Fin before I was brought into care of the rescue.

Adjusting to life with the humans has been hard for me. They are always trying to pick me up or touch me and I'm not always ready for that. I'm still learning to trust people but, I watch my brother getting scratches and cuddles and I can't lie, it looks pretty nice.

Let me start by telling you about myself. I was an extremely scared little poof when I came into care with my brothers. I wanted nothing to do with my caregiver other than hide and avoid all contact. My brothers have moved on but I stayed as I have had lots to overcome with my introverted personality. But with patience and time I have learned that people won’t hurt me and that I really like them. I found out that people give the best neck scratches, which is my absolute favourite. I like to rub against people’s legs to let them know I would like some pets and neck scratches. I have learned that it feels nice to be held and to sit in peoples’ laps so they can pet me. You can usually find me where the people are in the house but I’m also ok by myself if the people are busy. Since I’m young, I really like to play! I love chasing springs, wand toys and balls. I play well with the resident cats and the other foster kitties.

When I move to my forever home, I would do best if I start in one room so I can get comfortable with the new space and get to know you. The best way to win over my heart is if you sit on the floor and play with me or offer me treats and let me come to you. Please don’t grab me until I’m purring, then start slowly with putting me on your lap and letting me leave if I need to. I promise this is temporary and in no time, I will be following you around the house asking for pets and cuddling. I do really well with having my nails cut while I enjoy a treat tube and I use the litter box well with clumping cat litter.
