This quirky boy is slowly getting used to interactive playing and will often startle himself after chasing a toy but will quickly come back for more, his favourite toy is his honeysuckle sticks! He will never turn down a pet, he loves pets so much he will often grab your hand to press it up to his face for more pets. Our sweet Mr. Limpy is looking for a very special family. Could it be you?

Approximately a year ago, Limpy was seen on his fosters porch camera eating with the other neighborhood strays.
After being watched for a while it was noticed he had some sort of injury to his front paw and was limping.
After trying for quite some time, Mr. Limpy was trapped! This is how he got his name.

He was taken to the vet to get treatment for his sore paw as well as Neutered, vaccinated and dewormed.
To heal he stayed in a 2 story cage, he was not doing well, he wouldn't eat and seemed extremely unhappy and depressed and angry, no one could touch him.
So once he was healed he was released back to the porch.

Fast forward to winter, it was so cold so the foster decided to trap and keep all the strays indoor for the winter. Mr. LIMPY was 1st to be trapped and released into the fosters basement.

Limpy appeared to be a semi feral cat, he would growl and hiss if you got close to him. Eventually, after a few weeks he started rubbing up on their legs when it was food time, but couldn't pet him as he'd attack your hand, you also couldn’t walk away from him cause he'd attack your legs and feet...as time went on and he kept attacking legs and feet he was put into a very large cage where his foster would go in with him and spend time with him.

He decided he loved getting pets from her and would purr and cuddle up. He does still get over stimulated and bite(not hard) and grab (without claws) your hands. He is extremely loving and a wonderful cat, but only to one person. He will hiss growl and attack the legs of any other person.

Limpy needs a special home with one human or a couple willing to put in the work to earn Mr.Limpys love. He does well with other cats but can play rough. He is fine with little dogs if they leave him alone.
He plays with toys when he is alone, he hasn't yet played toys with his foster.

He is a big loveable Bear when he finds his person.

It was a pleasure to host Ava once again! Upon hearing she was returning to the rescue (not being her fault) we were quick to scoop her up. This time around Ava came back overweight.

Due to her size, she is unable to clean her backend resulting in her needing extra assistance involving a quick wipe with a warm cloth. We have been working on reducing her weight, which means closely following the feeding guidelines and daily playtime of 20-30 min. It’s always a pleasure to have Ava, she is super laidback and an overall very easy cat to care for. She will follow you around the house and will chatter with you when she wants to pet. As she continues to get comfortable, she is starting to get the zoomies which is very funny and rewarding to see. She also enjoys playing with wand toys and has tried engaging play with our other cats. Her all-time favorite though is spending her time lying belly up snoozing in the sun. She has yet to climb into our laps but enjoys being near us. Given Ava returns to a healthier weight, she is a low maintenance cat and would make a great roommate! Her current roommates are loud and busy which she’s still adjusting to, she would prefer a less busy and quieter household but who wouldn’t though!

I am the tiniest girl with the silkiest fur and a tail that was broken and now has a cute floop at the end to add to my charm. I enjoy being petted or brushed, but dislike pawdicures. I love to cuddle with my cat friends and would do well with other cat company.

I do love to talk now that I have learned to meow but mostly I chirp and chortle. My favourite toys are cat wands and that elusive red dot that I’m going to catch someday. I love chasing mice on my iPad and watching my foolish brothers chase bubbles.

I am a very hardworking girl. I like to be involved in anything household related: from folding laundry, stacking the dishwasher, making beds and most definitely preparing meals. I have taken on many duties. I do security monitoring from my window perch. I greet all guests. I inspect every bag and box entering the home. I help with putting away groceries as well as ensuring all cupboards and the refrigerator are kept neat and tidy. I also provide tuck in and wake up services. 

My most important task is taking care of the humans. I’m afraid they’re not very intelligent and I have to constantly act as an escort so they don’t get lost. Alarmingly, they keep trying to drown themselves in that bathtub thing and I have to be their lifeguard.

I have met dogs and am curious about them but as yet have not gone out of my way to make friends. Little people alarm me so I would probably do better with older children. I drink from a bowl or fountain and my litter box manners are meticulous.

Hi, I’m Sasha! My foster mom jokingly called me Sasha Fierce (after Beyoncé’s alter ego) because I sure was fierce when I first arrived! I was so scared but I didn’t want foster mom to know I was scared so I tried to be big and tough and hurt her before she could hurt me (I didn’t know humans could be kind and loving.) I was living outside with my brother and mom who was also pregnant again. Foster mom sure was persistent though and didn’t give up on me so I decided to take a chance and boy, am I ever glad I did! I LOVE to be pet and I especially love to press my forehead against foster mom’s forehead and just connect with her. I LOVE toys, I love to play so much! I never had toys when I lived outside. I also adore other animals, I NEED to go to a home with other cats that can help me continue to be brave. I love dogs too. I don’t love being picked up yet, it scared me not being on the ground but we’re working on it! I love to eat and I love snack time at foster mom’s house and I’m always first in line. Once you’ve passed probation, she will demonstrate her approval with chirps to welcome you home, company for any indoor activities and a companion for watching Netflix. For the moment Aveline is more of a night cuddler, but there’s a lap cat in there just waiting to come out.

Snuffleupagus has been with Tails of Freedom since he was a tiny kitten from a litter of four. He has watched his mom and 3 brothers get adopted as he patiently waits to find his forever home.

Snuffleupagus’ foster mom has seen him grow and transform into a beautiful, sweet and curious young boy.
He is very good with other cats yet still has an independent side. He also has a soft side where he loves to curl up beside his human or in the crook of their legs while they watch t.v. or drift off to sleep.

At night he likes to cuddle up on his foster mom’s bed and occasionally sneak under the covers.

Snuffleupagus is a playful boy that loves to play with plastic springs and wand toys and is known to perform the occasional zoomie. Snuffleupagus likes chasing the laser and has been known to chase light reflected off phones or watches.
His foster mom isn’t quite sure if he can read closed captioning on the t.v., but he is definitely fascinated by the words that he sees come across the screen.

Hey there, my name is Willow. I am a pretty little lady looking for a safe haven to call my own. I was rescued from a bad situation but that experience did not make me lose my sparkle and joy. My foster parents say I am the friendliest and sweetest cat you will ever meet and who am I to argue.

I love being petted and will even force my head under your hand if you stop too soon. I love to cuddle up on your lap and when you are lying down, I will stretch out as far as I can and make myself at home and have a wonderful nap.

I enjoy playing with all sorts of toys especially ones I can carry in my mouth. Be warned though, I can be a little tough on soft toys as I like to try and tear them apart – have a needle and thread ready for repairs! I can make almost anything a cat toy! Another one of my favorite pastimes is jumping up and sitting on window ledges and looking outside at the birds and other wildlife. I think I have checked out every window sill in my foster parent’s home. I really love a little play fighting in the morning while my foster mom is still in bed or when she is trying to do her stretches after a workout and I hope you will love it too.

I prefer cat food that is chunks or flakes of meat with gravy like Friskies Shredded (my personal favorite), none of that pate food for me. I enjoy crunchy food as well and really love those squeezable treats.

I am currently in a home where I am the only cat and enjoy being the centre of attention, but I have been with other pets before and think it would be fun to have buddy to play with. I have very good litter box manners.

Hi! I’m Cardamom! 

I was born with a large hole in my heart. I had a cardiac ultrasound done and found that while I don’t need any treatment right now, this is something that will need to be monitored over time. There’s a chance it could lead to heart problems in the future, like heart failure. I will likely need annual cardiac ultrasounds for the rest of my life in hopes of catching changes early (and possibly put on meds to extend things). Due to the large hole in my heart, the specialist said it puts me at significant risk of a shorter lifespan—possibly around 2 to 7 years—but right now I’m happy, playful, and feeling great! I’ll need another heart ultrasound in about a year to check on things. I’m hoping to find a home that will love me just as I am and give me the cozy, joy-filled life every kitty deserves! 

Now, more about ME! I’m a tiny long haired ginger who is exceptionally sweet. I had kittens while I was still a kitten myself. Now that I’m done with mom duties, I’d really love to settle down in a home of my own. I love the resident pets in my foster home, especially the dog. I’ll follow him around and playfully wrestle with him every change I get. Humans are great too, the more the merrier.  When company comes over I’m happy to meet everyone. I love to be picked up and snuggled and I’ll give little kisses if you let me. I have great litter box manners - I always use the box and bury my business thoroughly. S-s-sorry.. Hi… My name is Sugarpie. You caught me being the sweet, happy little girl I’m capable of being if you give me the chance.

See, I came in as a semi-feral, petrified kitty. I would freeze, hiss and occasionally swat. After quite some time I learned that pets do feel good and stopped turning to stone when my foster family pet me. I slowly pressed into the pets and loved receiving tube treats.

My foster family and visiting furry pals have helped me bloom into a tolerant and loving sweetie but do keep in mind I am still very skittish and shy… fast movements, loud noises, and too humans will make me bolt and hide. I am still not ready to be picked up, I won’t bite but it will stress me out and I will push away possibly clawing you in the process. If you need to move me momentarily, you can very carefully and gently pick me up by the nape of my neck like a kitten and I will remain calm but let’s try to avoid that all together

I found my voice and will let out teeny, tiny squawks letting you know I miss you and want pets. When you are calm I will come to you for pets, rub against you, and roll on to my back to show you my belly. I do like feet and will lick your toes… but you know, to each their own. I am very lady-like and agreeable when it comes to my bathroom manners and eating habits though!

I love playing with wand toys and other kitty friends. I’m very submissive and sweet to other cats and respect other kitties boundaries as they get used to me, I have never hissed or swatted at another cat. I might do well with a smaller doggy friend with proper intro. As for kids- well let’s just say they have to be calm, cool and collected or I’m going back to my hiding spot.

I’m hoping I find a small family or a single life partner that will be patient with me, as it will take some time getting used to a new place and not take it personally if I hiss or get TOO scared on the first day. My squeaks, rubs, and slow blinks are very well worth the wait.

Look...I need to honest with you. I'm the last of my litter to be adopted. Hoo-boy, I am kicking myself now!! What was I THINKING???I have been MISSING OUT on MOOCHES??? BELLY RUBS??? Do not get me going on cuddles and napping with arms around me! I just can't....
My foster mom tells me everyone has to go thru stuff to get to where they need to be. At least I think that's what she said - her voice was kind of muffled because my head was right in her face.
I find I now know what I want in life. More mooches. Right on my head. More belly rubs. On my belly. I REALLY, REALLY like gentle tummy rubs after I eat. Then long strokes down my side until I snooze. You can hold my paws, too. Or my tail. Or both at once. I am very good at directing where pets are needed!
I like to scoop up food with my paw to eat. I'm really getting used to all the noises my foster family makes. The thunder made me jump a bit but I was very brave and went to get more mooches!! If my foster family is slow to pucker up I have found I can bop them right in their lips with my head and get...MORE MOOCHES!! SERIOUSLY???!!! In my pictures you can see I have a very pink nosey! Guess what?? I LOVE nosey rubs!! I didn't know that. Now I do. Because I'm very brave. I'm slowly being introduced to the other cats and I KNOW I'm going to enjoy their company!
I may be shy when I first meet someone but it doesn't last long.
